Katy Perry - Roar

Katy Perry, ha optado por un video que toma como referencia al personaje de cómic Sheena, 'La Reina de la Jungla', para construir una metáfora de la letra de Roar (rugido), el primer sencillo de su nuevo disco 'Prism'. Así, el guión de este clip empata sutilmente con la letra que retrata una conquista femenina sobre adversidades románticas. El diseño del escenario concibió una jungla más cercana a un libro de colorear que a un ecosistema real. Por eso, este video debe ser un dolor de cabeza para todo estudioso de la vida silvestre. Sin embargo, si se asume que el accidentado avión de la protagonista aterrizó en un planeta diferente al nuestro, se puede disfrutar del decorado de alto presupuesto. Y es que no solamente se utilizó vegetación suficientemente convincente como para un video de pop, sino que también hay animales exóticos reales (lo que dio pie a una queja de PETA). Como se dijo antes, el personaje principal está basado en una chica de historietas llamada Sheena, que a diferencia de la protagonista del video, queda huérfana (Perry solo se queda sin su pareja). Por lo demás, la 'actuación' de la cantante es fiel al personaje que ella ha construido mediáticamente, desde su aparición en el 'mainstrem': una chica algo torpe e insegura, pero a la que si dan cuerda puede resultar en extremo graciosa y sensual.
